Breeders

The Pumi is a very rare breed in the US, with about 1 to 3 litters born per year.  If you are interested in a puppy, you may have to wait some time.  If you have a preference for a particular color or sex, you will have to wait even longer. 

The Pumi is a very healthy breed, but be sure to ask the breeder if the parents of the puppy have been x-rayed and cleared for hip dysplasia by OFA and eye problems by a veterinary opthamologist.  

There are breeders in the USA who are breeding non-recognized colors. The members of this club do not support the breeding of colors that are not recognized by the AKC or FCI standards of excellence for the breed.
